Research Experience

Ongoing Research Projects (April 2023 - )

  1. I am working on a research project with Brac University Professors Taiabul Haque and Farig Yousuf Sadeque to understand Bangladesh-based NLP practitioners' interactions with LLM. I am responsible for data collection and qualitative analysis of the collected data.
  2. I am working on a research project with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign faculty member Sharifa Sultana Ela to understand content moderation on various online platforms.

Literature Review with Third Space (January 2023 - )

  • I am currently reviewing literature with Third Space 's reading group.  The Third Space is a research group based at University of Toronto which focuses on HCI and ICTD. This group is led by Schwartz Reisman Institute  Faculty Fellow Syed Ishtiaque Ahmed. He is the Assistant Professor of the Department of Computer Science, University of Toronto.
  • Recently, I reviewed papers for CHI-2023's Late-Breaking Work as a volunteer.

Undergraduate Thesis (2017 - 2018)

Supervisor - Dr. Mahmuda Naznin

  • Under Information Centric Network or ICN, NDN or Named Data Network is a salient architecture that removes the limitations of IP datagrams as they only can address communication endpoints. In this architecture, data from either a conversation or a video chunk can be named. Thus the thin waist of the network hourglass model is changed. I, along with another student, worked to improve the content caching of an NDN architecture.
  • In NDN architecture, data packets are cached in a table called Content Store or CS. All NDN nodes in topology have variable-sized content stores. Therefore, we designed an algorithm that will increase the cache hit ratio of the CS and minimize cache eviction, eventually improving the performance. We applied probability-based content caching to achieve the output.
